Student Voice Mobile Phone Collection

Members of the purple section of Notley’s Student Voice have joined forces with a local charity called  Hand in Hand in a project to support a rural school in Tanzania, Africa.

Hand in Hand has worked for some years developing community projects in Africa. They began construction of the school in Kiraracha, a remote village in Tanzania two year ago. They have completed 2 classrooms and this year added a third. They now intend to construct another classroom on an adjacent piece of land.

To raise funds for this project, we would like to collect old  mobile phones. The funds raised by the sale of the phones goes straight to the construction of the new classrooms.

So we would like to ask pupils, parents and staff of the school to bring in their old mobiles. They don’t have to work and they don’t have to have a charger. All purple reps have been tasked with the job of collecting them and bringing them to a central collection point is school.

We would like to collect as many phones as possible and make a positive contribution to a very worthwhile cause.
